About Mercy Trips

"Partnering with local communities to provide compassionate care — freely, without condition — as an outreach of love for our fellow man."

Our Organization

Who We Are

Mercy Trips Healthcare Outreach is a nondenominational Christian organization dedicated to the encouragement of compassionate service through short-term medically-oriented outreach missions.

What We Do

Partnering with local healthcare workers and churches in medically underserved countries, we provide free medical clinics and surgical care as an outreach of Christian love for our fellow man.

Where We Go

Our current projects are in Uganda, Africa — working with rural hospitals, clinics, churches, and orphanages across both Eastern and Western regions.

Who Can Go

While our missions have a decidedly Christian focus, compassionate individuals from all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome to join the teams. No prior medical experience is required.

Who We Treat

Medical care is provided free of charge to all who come, without discrimination of race, religious affiliation, or social class. Services are never tied to any requirement for religious conversion.

Our Projects

Eastern Uganda

Kanginima Hospital & Pallisa District

Our Eastern Uganda trips are carried out in association with Kanginima Hospital, a rural hospital serving the Pallisa District near Mbale. The hospital's 4 operating theatres support our surgical team, while the clinical staff assists with village outreach. We have completed many protected spring clean water projects in the region through the Lodoi Development Fund.

Western Uganda

Tooro Kingdom & the Rwenzori Region

Our Western Uganda trips are carried out with the assistance of the Tooro Kingdom and the local governing council. Outreach extends to far western villages near the Semiliki River on the border with Congo. Surgical care is performed at a health unit in the village of Kabuta, just through the Rwenzori Mountains.

Education

Healthcare Scholarships

We are developing a program to match donors who want to invest in the future of local healthcare with qualified health profession students who need support for education-associated costs. This program is actively growing and open to interested donors.
